Preparation Day: 116
About Preparation Day
What can I give back to God
for the blessings he’s poured out on me?
I’ll lift high the cup of salvation—a toast to God!
I’ll pray in the name of God;
I’ll complete what I promised God I’d do,
and I’ll do it together with his people.
When they arrive at the gates of death,
God welcomes those who love him.
(from Psalm 116, The Message)
Slipping into a pew at Deidra’s:
:: Photo: curious disruption of my sunrise view

What a stunning image to accompany the Psalm.

Yesterday I attended a memorial service. This verse about arriving at the gates of death, and that amazing image…..just what my soul needs this morning.

Mine too, Sheila.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

I got chills when I saw that photo, knowing a little about your last week.

When my mom took her last breath, her whole body shuddered. Spirit separating from body? This photo made me think of that. Chills.

Lyla, I’ve been quiet, but praying with and for you. And yours. So glad to have you in the pew next to me…

The picture really is stunning Lyla – and the words. Oh how the Psalms minister.
