I think verse 1 is the inspiration for the song we used to close out every choir concert from 6th grade through college: “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.”

Back in my days in commercial broadcasting we ended our broadcast day with a recording of “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You” performed by David Rose, his orchestra and chorus. We were a daytime only station and had to sign off at sunset each day.
Meredith Wilson (The Music Man) wrote both the lyrics and the melody.
